Laponie partners: Immaculate Vegan
For any company, great partners are key. In our blog series, called Laponie Partners, we are proud to present the companies and people we work with to make it all happen. This week we talked to Vai Mas, eCommerce Manager at UK based Immaculate Vegan, a new curated marketplace bringing together ethics with aesthetics.
WHAT DO YOU OFFER AT THE IMMACULATE VEGAN MARKETPLACE?
Immaculate Vegan is a new place to shop consciously and, we believe, the best of its kind. A curated marketplace that brings together ethics with aesthetics; outstanding choice with inspiration. By shopping with us, people are supporting our community of pioneering brands, and our collective mission for change.
We search the world for the most beautiful and creative brands, in order to make it easy for you to find the right product, with the right aesthetic, and the right ethics – all under one specially-curated roof. Unlike many other stores, there is no “Vegan” filter on our site, because we don’t need it. So you can trust that absolutely everything we sell is vegan and cruelty free – no compromises.
We believe that everyone can do simple things to make a difference, and it’s our job to make it easy for you to do that, by shopping more thoughtfully and intentionally.
HOW DO YOU MAKE THE PRODUCT SELECTION?
We set high standards, and every product we sell has to pass our test of ethics and aesthetics. Is it beautifully designed and well made? Are the materials or ingredients some of the best available? Is the brand using – or working towards – the most sustainable supply chains and product packaging?
We offer outstanding choice within each of our categories of Shoes, Bags, Accessories, Clothing, Beauty and Homewares. We are also working to build comprehensive collections in each region around the world, so that you have the choice to shop locally as well as Immaculately.
WHAT DO YOU OFFER WITHIN VEGAN SKINCARE?
We believe that being Immaculate is more than just owning an apple leather bag - although it does add some confidence, especially when it's made by Samara Bags. Therefore, we carefully curated a range of skincare made with high quality natural ingredients and entirely cruelty free.
Also, mainstream brands often have destructive effects on not only the environment but also disadvantaged communities that harvest and produce ingredients for their products. By searching for skincare brands we look for more than effectiveness but for transparent, responsible and fair practices in their supply chain as well.
A comprehensive skincare regime should be more than a daily chore - we want to offer people an experience and a away to have more "me time" - their personal rituals. Therefore, after testing products ourselves, we have curated a range of effective cleansers, exfoliators, moisturiser, face oils and face masks - who doesn't love a selfcare Sunday? We also offer a range of body and hair care, as well as, natural mineral cosmetics range.
WHAT WAS IT IN OUR BRAND THAT CAUGHT YOUR ATTENTION?
Even though people say it's not about the looks, we need to admit that packaging is an important factor. Laponie's packaging is sophisticated and very adventure and travel friendly. We also were intrigued by ingredients in each of the products - where science meets nature. Once we tried Laponie's products we had no doubt - it does what is says!
Everyone on our team had a fabulous experience. I absolutely love the toner since it doesn't have any added strong smells and I use the All-Around Balm as part of my tattoo aftercare.
WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST TRENDS WITHIN THE VEGAN LIFESTYLE SEGMENT?
Sustainability is a big buzzword right now, although everyone has a different definition for it. Therefore we would encourage people to be inquisitive and demand complete transparency in company practices. More and more people want to know about the supply chain. If the question previously was "is it vegan?", now it is a veritable checklist with questions like "who, where and how this was made", "what's the environmental/long-term impact" and so on.
We hope that it's more than just a trend but a shift in global mindset. After all, we ourselves believe in conscious community, where everyone is valued, and exploitation exists no more.
