DIY masks to celebrate summer

Here in the North, summer is a lot about sauna, and some serious self-pampering. Our chemist Jaana and CEO Kristina have put together their favourite DIY face masks (and one for your hands) for some summer down-time. All you need is our Gel Cleanser and some lovely stuff from our partner Ruohonjuuri (or any wll-stocked natural health shop if you're based outside Finland). Read on!

Refreshing face mask with berries

Mix 2 tbs of Gel Cleanser with 2 tsp of berry powder and apply to face. Leave on for 15 minutes and wash off. The anti- oxidants and fruit acids in the berries are great for brightening and gently exfoliating your skin.

Calming face mask with oats

Mix 2 tbs of Gel Cleanser with 2 tsp of oat flour and apply to face. Leave on for 20 minutes and wash off. Oats calms and nourish skin. The mask provides excellent after-sun care, and can be used on the entire body.

Renewing face mask with roseroot

Mix 2 tbs of Gel Cleanser with 1 tsp of powdered roseroot and apply to face. Leave on for 15 minutes and wash off. In skincare roseroot is popular in so-called anti-aging products as the anti-oxidants and flavonoids it contains possess skin-renewing properties.

Purifying face mask with kaolin clay

Mix 2 tbs of Gel Cleanser with 1 tbs of kaolin clay and apply to face. Leave on until mask starts to dry, and wash off, to cleanse skin without drying it out (which typically happens when mixing kaolin with just water). The kaolin clay gently purifies skin and draws out impurities. Excellent for acne-prone and oily skin. Can be used on the entire body,

Hydrating hand scrub with sea salt

Mix 2 tbs of Gel Cleanser with 2 tbs of fine sea salt and scrub hands with the mixture. Let sit for 10 minutes and then wash off. The salt is a two-in-one mineral-rich hydrator and exfoliator.
