Rhamnose

Here at Laponie, we source and test all ingredients ourselves. We choose them with care, so that they work perfectly for sensitive and problem-skin. All our ingredients are natural and vegan, and we aim to meet and know all of the producers personally. For every product, we provide a full breakdown of all the ingredients and explain why they are included.

 

Rhamnose

Rhamnose is a plant-based sugar, which is relatively rare in nature. It can be found in sea buckthorn, birch trees and certain micro-algae.  

It has hydrating, anti-inflammatory, soothing and skin rejuvenating properties. Studies have shown that that cell cultures treated with rhamnose produced fewer aging byproducts.

Rhamnose causes a series of reactions at all levels of the skin, improving the appearance of wrinkles and boosting the skin’s firmness. Compared to vitamin C, rhamnose has a broader effect and works on more of the skin’s molecules.

We source our rhamnose directly from our lab-neighbour Juho and his amazing company that specialises in natural specialty carbohydrates.
