DIY face masks for holiday pampering - with our Gel Cleanser

Check out our three DIY face masks for sensitive and problem skin holiday pampering!  We've created a soothing mask with matcha green tea, an energising mask with Indian gooseberry and an anti-inflammatory mask with xylitol sugar. All you need is our Gel Cleanser and a few supplies from @ruohonjuurioy (or any well-stocked natural health shop, if you’re outside Finland).

Soothing mask with matcha green tea

Green tea has soothing properties when applied to skin, and is great for reducing irritation and redness.

You'll need:

How to:

  • In a bowl, mix the Gel Cleanser with the matcha until uniform.
  • Apply to clean skin using a brush or (clean) fingers.
  • Let sit for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off.

Energising mask with Indian gooseberry (amla)

Indian gooseberry, or amla, is a staple in ayurvedic (traditional Indian) skincare. It's high in vitamin C, and has some brightening properties, too.

You'll need:

How to:

  • In a bowl, mix the Gel Cleanser with the amla until uniform.
  • Apply to clean skin using a brush or (clean) fingers.
  • Let sit for max 10 minutes, then rinse off with water.

Anti-inflammatory mask with xylitol sugar

Xylitol is technically a humectant, i.e. a moisturising ingredient, also possesses anti-bacterial properties. There is some interesting research that suggests xylitol has the ability to inhibit bacterial biofilm on skin, which in turn may be the cause of many skin issues.

You'll need:

How to:

  • In a bowl, mix the Gel Cleanser with the xylitol (the xylitol does not have to dissolve).
  • Apply to clean skin using a brush or (clean) fingers.
  • Let sit for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off with water.
