Laponie was created to tackle our founder Kristina's sensitive and problem skin issues, and our mission is to help you sort out your skin. We asked our customers to tell us their stories, and how our products have helped them. Here's Johanna's story about how our products helped her deal with POD and atopic skin.
Johanna is Laponie's long-term customer, and has always had sensitive skin, due to her atopic dermatitis. She contacted us when she all of a sudden started breaking out around the mouth, and the breakouts started spreading to around the eyes as well.
Johanna first suspected herpes simplex, and treated skin with a cream for that purpose. This did not work, however, and made her condition worse. Based on her pics and what she wrote, we suspected POD, and based on this, suggested she use only the Milk Cleanser (due to her extremely dry skin and atopic dermatitis), the Balancing Essence Mist and the Face Oil. Usually we'll suggest the Face Cream for POD routines, but because of Johanna's atopic dermatitis, we wanted to make sure her skin would not dry out, especially with the colder weather. To treat the POD itself, we opted for our Calming Serum.
Johanna tells us:
"When the bumps appeared I made the classic mistake of overtreating my skin. It got worse, and every morning I woke to bigger and redder bumps. Laponie instructed me to stop using all thick creams (including the All-around Balm, which has been my go-to) and only use the Milk Cleanser, Balancing Essence and a small amount of Face Oil. I was told to use just the tiniest bit of oil, to prevent dryness. In the evening, I added Calming Serum to the routine, applying it on POD areas. When I woke up the first morning after starting the routine, my face and the POD were much calmer. In three days it was all gone."
You'll find Johanna's products in e.g. our 3-step Routine for Sensitised/Reactive Skin and our Anti-irritation Set for Oily/Combination Skin. You can also check out the individual products here.
