9 ways to use our Face Oil

One of the most important cornerstones of skin care is proper hydration, and in order for skin to also retain moisture it is vital to use an oil-based product. For this, a face oil is the perfect choice. A face oil nourishes and protects skin, and helps lock in the moisture by slowing down water-loss. For us, our own vegan, plant-based and fragrance-free Face Oil is skin's best friend, with ingredients chosen specifically for dry and oil sensitive and problem skin. Check out 9 ways (at least) for how to use it!

Our Face Oil is a cocktail of only four pure plant-oils: argan, oat, rosehip and raspberry. The Oil nourishes, protects, softens and soothes the skin, leaving an near matte finish. Thanks to its fatty acid profile, our Face Oil is suitable for both sensitive dry skin as well as oily, acne-prone skin. It's entirely fragrance-free and is formulated without any preservatives.

Only four pure plant-oils

We've chosen oils which are especially good for sensitive and problem skin. Argan oil contains a slightly higher concentration of oleic acid, but is generally suitable for clogging prone skin, as it contains a large amount of lupeol, which has anti-inflammatory effects. The oil and linoleic acid balance of oat oil is almost 50/50, softening and soothening irritated skin. Rosehip oil is excellent for caring for e.g. eczema, acne, melasma, rosacea, inflammation and sun damage. It's also been shown to reduce skin pigmentation, balance uneven skin color, tackle damage from acne, scars and stretch marks. Raspberry seed oil contains a high content of linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid, making it suitable for dermatitis sufferers. It's said to be able to relieve the symptoms of eczema, psoriasis and rosacea. Raspberry seed oil is also well suited for acne prone skin. It's also an excellent source of vitamin E, which fights inflammation, reduces scarring and improves skin collagen levels. In addition, it contains a lot of vitamin A, which supports the regeneration.

How to use

Apply the Oil over hydrating products such as our Toner or Calming or Clarifying Treatment. 1-4 drops will usually get you there. Here are our 8 favourite ways to use the Face Oil:

1. Boost your cream

Add a nourishing punch to your favorite moisturiser by mixing a few drops of our Face Oil in it. Check out our Face Cream for a great all-around moisturiser.

2. Go for a “no cream” skin care routine

Hydrate and nourish skin without face cream! Great for super-sensitive skin when you want to ramp down on preservatives in skincare. Apply a few drops of Face Oil over our Balancing Essence or mix the products together in the palm of your hand and apply to face.

3. Soothe irritated skin

Apply our Calming Serum under under or mixed with the Face Oil to soothe irritated and red skin.

4. Under makeup

Pat a drop or two of our Face Oil onto your face before make - up. Remember to let the Oil absorb for a while - the Oil leaves an almost matte finish.

5. Eye makeup removal

Rub the Face Oil around the eyes (without water)  to remove water-resistant eye makeup. Use our Milk or Gel Cleanser to complete skin cleansing.

6. Body care

Our Face Oil is suitable for use on the whole body. Apply a thin layer to dry and rough areas of your skin, cuticles or anywhere your skin needs some extra care.

7. Hair oil

Treat dry and coarse hair and split ends applying a small amount of oil to the ends of hair.

8. Beard oil

Our Face Oil doubles as a nourishing shaving oil for both the beard and the skin under the beard.

9. Baby bath oil

Our Face Oil works great as a baby bath oil too.
