Read on to try our refreshing, calming, renewing, purifying, soothing, energising and anti-inflammatory masks.

Refreshing face mask with powdered berries

Berries are rich in anti-oxidants and fruit acids, making them a great choice for brightening and gently exfoliating your skin.

You’ll need:

  • 2 tbs of Gel Cleanser.

  • 2 tsp of powdered berries. If possible, use a mixture of berries – we like this one from Ruohonjuuri, containing seven different berries.

How to:

  • In a bowl, mix the Gel Cleanser with the berry powder until uniform.

  • Apply to clean skin using a brush or (clean) fingers.

  • Let sit for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off.

Calming face mask with oats

Oats calm and nourish skin and have long been used in skincare to soothe e.g. symptoms of eczema. This mask provides excellent after-sun care whenever you need it, and can be used on the entire body.

You’ll need

How to:

  • In a bowl, mix the Gel Cleanser with the oat flour until uniform.

  • Apply to clean skin using a brush or (clean) fingers.

Renewing face mask with rose root

In skincare, rose root is popular in so-called anti-aging products as the anti-oxidants and flavonoids it contains possess skin-renewing properties.

You’ll need:

How to:

  • In a bowl, mix the Gel Cleanser with the rose root until uniform.

  • Apply to clean skin using a brush or (clean) fingers.

  • Let sit for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off.

Purifying face mask with kaolin clay

Kaolin clay is a popular skincare ingredient to gently purify skin and draw out impurities. Excellent for acne-prone and oily skin with sensitive tendencies, and also a safe choice for dry skin. This mask is a great option for deep-cleansing skin with clay without drying it out, which typically happens when mixing kaolin with just water. Can be used on the entire body,

You’ll need

How to:

  • In a bowl, mix the Gel Cleanser with the clay until uniform.

  • Apply to clean skin using a brush or (clean) fingers.

  • Leave on until the mask starts to dry and wash off.

Soothing face mask with matcha green tea

Green tea has soothing properties when applied to skin, and is great for reducing irritation and redness.

    You'll need:

    How to:

    • In a bowl, mix the Gel Cleanser with the matcha until uniform.

    • Apply to clean skin using a brush or (clean) fingers.

    • Let sit for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off.

Energising face mask with Indian gooseberry (amla)

Indian gooseberry, or amla, is a staple in ayurvedic (traditional Indian) skincare. It's high in vitamin C, and has some brightening properties, too. This mask can also be applied to scalp to alleviate dandruff.

    You'll need:

    How to:

    • In a bowl, mix the Gel Cleanser with the amla until uniform.

    • Apply to clean skin using a brush or (clean) fingers.

    • Let sit for max. 10 minutes, then rinse off with water.

Anti-inflammatory face mask with xylitol sugar

Xylitol is technically a humectant, i.e. a moisturising ingredient, but also possesses anti-bacterial properties. There is some interesting research that suggests that xylitol has the ability to inhibit bacterial biofilm on skin, which in turn may be the cause of many skin issues. This mask is good for alleviating symptoms of seborrhea without dryness.

    You'll need:

    How to:

    • In a bowl, mix the Gel Cleanser with the xylitol (the xylitol does not have to dissolve).

    • Apply to clean skin using a brush or (clean) fingers.

    • Let sit for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off with water.

Tip: Follow up the masks with our Face Toner to hydrate skin and a dab our Face Cream or Face Oil to lock in hydration and keep skin soft and nourished.
