1. Hydrate
Close eyes and spray Balancing Essence on face after cleansing, before oils or creams. Your skin will feel hydrated and ready to go. Especially when using an oil to care for skin, it is crucial to use a good humectant, i.e. a moisturising product, such as our toner, underneath.
2. Post-cleanse
Spray Balancing Essence on a cotton pad and wipe face after cleansing, to remove any residue from cleansers.
3. Set makeup
After applying your make-up, spray lightly on your face to set your make-up.
4. Re-fresh
Bring the bottle with you and spray on face as a quick pick-me-up during the day whenever needed. The Balancing Essence is also a great product to keep your skin hydrated onboard when travelling or logging in hours in front of the computer. Your skin will feel all refreshed again, without transferring your makeup.
5. "No Cream" alternative for sensitised/irritated skin

An integral part of the balancing, hydrating, soothing and conditioning properties of our Balancing Essence boils down to ectoin, which is a powerful, small, multi-tasking and natural stress-protection molecule, a so-called extremolyte. From a chemical point of view, it is a cyclic amino acid derivate. Extremolytes protect extremophilic microorganisms and plants from the extreme conditions of their habitats like salt lakes, hot springs, permanent ice or deserts.
The properties of ectoin have been proven by various in-vivo studies: its benefits include long-term moisturisation, diminished skin roughness, skin barrier repair and anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant properties. We get ours from a lovely little company in Germany, where it is produced through biotechnological fermentation from a specific, non-GMO strain of the halophilic bacteria Halomonas elongata.
