What does minimalistic skin care mean to us?
A few, simple products. We’ve created a paired back series - reducing the amount of products can be an excellent first aid for sensitive and problem skin.
Multifunctional products. For us, minimalistic products also mean multifunctional products. Our products can be used on their own, combined to form routines or used together with your favourites from other brands – use what you need, when you need it. Versatility is also important to us - our products can be used all over the body.
A small amount of ingredients. We are ingredients minimalists. We always use a minimum of ingredients in our products, without compromising on quality or functionality. Fewer ingredients (and the right kind) tend to serve sensitive and problem skin better.
Simple packaging. Our packaging philosophy is quite simple in terms of both materials and appearance - we prioritise practical design and recyclable materials. That is why almost all of our products are packaged at max 100 ml.
Two product simple skin care routine
The most minimal routine consist of a cleanser and a moisturiser. You can choose between our mild Milk Cleanser, our gentle but deep cleansing Gel Cleanser or our nourishing Oil Cleanser. Check out our short guide for picking a cleanser here.
After cleansing, skin needs both humectants to hydrate, and emollients, e.g. oils, to care for skin and lock in hydration. You'll find both in our two moisturisers.
The ligh, gel-cream-like Face Cream hydrates and softens skin with plant oils, plant-based glycerin, sodium PCA and colloidal oat meal. The Face Cream is a great choice for oily, dehydrated (i.e. oily with a dry feel) and combination skin.
For drier or irritated skin we recommend choosing our intensively hydrating and softening Hydrating Face Mask & Cream, which works both as a face mask and nourishing cream. It's formulated with balancing sunflower seed oil, hydrating plant-based glycerin and rejuvenating rhamnose sugar to gently care, nourish and hydrate.
Three product simple skin care routine
If you're dealing with a specific skin issue you need to treat, or just want to use a facial oil instead of cream (if e.g. emulsifiers are a problem for you), a three-step routine is your go-to.
A three-step routin essentially consist of a cleanser, a hydrating product which also targets skin issues (such as an essence or serum) and an oil-based product to care and protect, such as an oil or a face cream.
To target specific skin problems, you can pick one of our three serums: the Clarifying serum to purify, hydrate and control oil, the Calming serum to soothe, hydrate and repair and the Renewing serum to renew, hydrate and tackle fine lines and pigmentation. Read more here on how to pick a serum.
If you feel like you want to reduce preservatives in your skincare, or can't use creams or products with emulsifiers, combining our hydrating and soothing Balancing Essence with our Face Oil (which contains no preservatives and is also completely fragrance-free) is an excellent choice. These two together essentially replace a moisturiser, i.e. the Essence adds humectans to skin and the Oil softens and protects while locking in hydration.
The Essence balances, hydrates, soothes and cares for sensitive and problem skin with natural ectoin, smoothing giant kelp extract and soothing liquorice root. It's a great product for all skins (and can be spritzed on over makeup to fresh up skin during the day) but is a must have for dehydrated/dry or irritated skin.
Our fragrance- and preservative-free Face Oil is formulated with only four, pure plant-oils: repairing argan, softening oat, soothing raspberry and renewing rosehop. We've created a blend that has a fatty acid composition that suits most skins Oils high in linoleic acid are great for acne-prone skin while oils high in oleic acid are better for drier skin, and our Face Oil is a balanced blend of both types, to suit sensitive and reactive skin.
We've created a few simple, ready-made routines for you to choose from in our webshop.
