As you likely know, we love multitasking products, and our serums are no exception. They just don’t solve only one problem, but simultaneously treat several specific sensitive and problem skin needs. Here’s the lo-down on all three Laponie serums, what they do, who they are for and and why.
Calming Serum
The Calming Serum is the choice for sensitive and problem skin when: your skin is red, sensitised or irritated, needs extra moisture or needs rejuvenating spot treatment, e.g. to help smaller scars fade or those pesky red, oozy bumps associated with perioral dermatitis.
Our light and clear gel-serum gently soothes, repairs and moisturises sensitive and problem skin. It’s also suitable for treating symptoms of rosacea and periorial dermatitis (POD).
Our Calming Serum contains 1.5% tiger grass derived madecassoside, which reduces redness, itching and flaking and soothes skin. Madecassoside also hydrates and and has skin rejuvenating properties, making it an excellent ingredient for treating scars as well.
Plant-derived rhamnose sugar moisturizes, prevents inflammation, soothes and regenerates skin. Studies show that rhamnose sugar also reduces the signs of aging.
The skin care properties of our favorite active ingredient, ectoin, have been proven in several in vivo studies (i.e. tests on human skin): its benefits include long-lasting hydration, reduced skin roughness, skin barrier repair, and anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant properties.
Clarifying Serum
Use our Clarifying Serum to treat your sensitive and problem skin when: you’re dealing with impurities, congestion, pimples or excessive oil production.
The Clarifying Serum is an antimicrobial and sebum-regulating gel-serum that prevents inflammation and purifies sensitive and problem skin without drying. The serum is especially suitable for surface-dry oily, impure or clogged skin. The Clarifying Treatment is also excellent for gently relieving symptoms of acne, seborrhea and Malassezia-based acne (fungus).
Xylitol sugar hydrates skin, has antibacterial properties, and has the ability to prevent the formation of bacterial biofilm, which can cause many skin problems such as seborrhea or atopic dermatitis.
Silica simultaneously handles two major skin needs: it purifies skin while moisturising it. Silica absorbs impurities and bacteria, and improves the skin's moisture content by binding water, much like hyaluronic acid.
Zinc and copper PCA, in turn, moisturise the skin, but also fight impurities, regulate sebum production, strengthen the skin’s protective barrier, and soothe the skin.
Clarifying Serum also contains ectoin, also used in the Calming Serum, to hydrate, repairs and treats the skin.
Renewing Serum
The Renewing Serum is a great choice for sensitive and problem skin when: you’re dealing with pigmentation, unevenness, haze or fine lines and have skin prone to dryness or surface dehydration.
The Renewing Serum is a nourishing but light emulsion-serum that gently brightens sensitive and problem skin while moisturising and soothing. It’s an excellent routine add-on to treat dry and mature, uneven or dull skin.
The hero ingredient in the Serum is sustainably harvested bakuchiol, derived from the babchi plant, which works wonders on pigment changes and fine lines. The effects of bakuchiol are often compared to retinol, and studies show it is as effective as retinol, but without irritation and redness.
Argan oil has skin repairing, protective and strengthening properties, absorbs easily and due to its fatty acid profile is generally suitable for all skin types. Together with plant-based glycerin, it treats skin dullness and dryness.
Glycerin moisturises and protects the skin, revitalizes the skin’s protective barrier, and slows down skin’s waterloss (TEWL). It’s also got antimicrobial properties.
Bisabolol is a skin soothing, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial agent that is especially suitable for sensitive and problem skin, and also gently treats e.g. small scars.
The serums can be used for spot treating, your entire face and under eye area, layered over each other or mixed with your other favourite products (we love them as calming, purifying or renewing boosters for our Face Cream!).
