Our Gentle Exfoliating Essence is a light leave-on gel on to renew and exfoliate sensitive and problem skin effectively and gently, without disturbing the skin’s protective barrier and without drying skin.
An "acid toner" for sensitive and problem skin? We know, but here's the breakdown: the Gentle Exfoliating Essence renews skin with gluconolactone, which we've used at a 10% level. Gluconolactone is a gentle and effective alternative to glycolic acid, and does not cause irritation and redness. Plant-based glycerin hydrates and betaine from Finnish sugar beets repairs the skin barrier. Skin is left feeling soft and smooth, with more glow and without irritation.
The Gentle Exfoliating Esssence is a great choice for sensitive clog-and acne-prone skin, sensitive combination and oily skin, to give sensitive dehydrated skin some glow and for sensitive aging skin. The light gel formula absorbs quickly and the product is easy to to dispense as needed thanks to the pump packaging.

To be honest, I ordered this on a whim. I was excited to try Laponie products in hopes they would help during the cold and dry Minnesota winters. I added the essence mist to my order and I’m so glad I did! It’s so hydrating and refreshing. Using it is one of my favorite times of day!
Face cleansing oil which removes make up (including tubing/water-proof mascara and inner lid eyeliners), keeps skin hydrated, can be rinsed easily only with water and does not ”stuck” on skin like many oil cleansers. Refreshed and clean feeling without irritation or drying! Been using this product for years.
I love this cleanser, I discovered it in 2021 and no other cleanser can compare. Very good for sensitive acne prone skin, doesn't dry it out.
